website design
The project was to create a hypothetical business, brand it then design a website for it. The business was to specialize in recipes. The target audience was men ages 50-55 who consider themselves aficionados in high quality alcoholic beverages and love cooking for and entertaining close friends. This website specialized in using liquor, wine or beer as an ingredient in the recipe.
The idea behind the design was to give it a classy and sophisticated feel. I wanted the site to have an open and boundless look. Fine line botanical sketches accentuated by a splash of color were created to add interest and complement different alcohols represented. I added an antique paper backdrop to the site to add an aged feel paralleling fine aged liquors.
The flow of the website is to allow the user to easily and pleasantly navigate to recipes by choosing the alcoholic ingredient. In addition, the website also gives users the option of suggested good pairings of dishes whether it be entrées or desserts, based on the type of alcohol selected. As an added bonus, visitors to Libatious Foodie have the option of learning the characteristics and history of the booze of interest on specialized pages.

motion graphics
The project was to create a twenty to thirty second motion graphics video with Adobe After Effects using elements from our website project. Because the website was made for using booze as an ingredient in cooking and the target audience was males age 50-55 I decided to use a jazz sound track. This seemed to fit the mood of the site.
